Dropped my guitar down to James for a repair a fortnight ago. From start to finish it was a truly professional experience. On dropping off the guitar James talked me through the procedure from start to finish. His knowledge of guitars is excellent and put me at ease that the job would be done right.
All the way through the repair he sent updates and let me know as soon as it was ready. When I collected the guitar he again took time to go through the repair process from start to finish which was of a better standard than the original factory finish. His expertise even found an issue that I didn’t know about and this was also resolved.
Even though my guitar is a relatively cheap one and the job a small one, it was treated as though it was a one off worth thousands. I have no hesitation to recommend James for any instrument repairs.

Brought my Martin HD28 to James to get the neck reshaped from an oval to a vintage V shaped neck and resprayed to have a smooth satin finish. The low oval shape was giving me hand cramps and the original finish had been very tacky/sticky. He did an outstanding job and got exactly what I was looking for. He also re-crowned the frets to where they look brand new and shaped and fitted a brand new nut for the guitar. Would very much recommend him as I’m pretty fussy and not easily pleased. 10/10 for the job and 11/10 for the price!
